Our Large GutzBusta® Hay Nets have a new design and are now super easy to fill. No other slow feed hay suppliers in Australia make their larges the same. These nets now open right up and you can fill from the long side of the bale, instead of trying to pull your hay net down the entire length of the bale. Our Large GutzBusta Hay Nets are available in both knotted or knotless nets.
Simply place your bale on the ground, open up your hay net and place over the bale length ways. Pull the net right down to ground level so the drawstring is at ground level. Then flip the bale over 180 degrees. Pull up any loose netting and then pull up your drawstring to take up any slack. You can then cut the twine strings from around your bale (be careful not to damage the net while cutting strings), or you may wish to do this after you have the bale in place where you want to put it. Your Large Hay Net is fill in about 10 seconds or less.
If you are leaving your bale on the ground or tied low (for regularly trimmed unshod horses only) then tie a new simple knot at the base of the net and untie the knot at the end of the drawstring. This then leaves the drawstring loose and free and unable to get caught up in feed and legs. If you are hanging the bale up, then you may or may not wish to tie a knot at the base of the net. You can then hang your net up
Due to the square pattern of the holes, the holes don’t collapse down on themselves and therefore the horses can always eat out of the holes. Diamond shaped holes can close up and the horse find it increasingly difficult to eat out of the nets as the hay amount gets less.
Tie your hay net up for shod horses or horses that paw a lot.
